Diana charters panamax bulker to Cargill

Cargill International has chartered Diana Shipping’s panamax bulk carrier Melite (76,436 dwt, built 2004) for 11 to 14 months.

The vessel was fixed at a rate of $7,250 per day, minus a 4.75% commission for third parties. The charter period starts on Tuesday.

Diana said it expects the contract to generate around $2.39m in gross revenue during the 11-month minimum period.

Melite has just completed a 10-month timecharter to Glencore, which was earning $7,250 daily, less 5% commission.
