Diana Shipping wins two new charter deals

Greek dry bulk shipowner Diana Shipping has announced new charters for two of its vessels.

Koch Shipping in Singapore has taken newcastlemax Philadelphia on time charter for a period of 10-12 months. The charter for the 2012-built vessel is scheduled to commence on March 14 at a rate of $15,500 per day.

Koch has contracted several Diana vessels of late. It took capesize pair Seattle and P.S. Palios in January, and fixed capesize New Orleans and newcastlemax San Francisco in December.

Additionally, Rotterdam based Transgrain Shipping has fixed 2005-built panamax vessel Calipso for a period of 11-14 months at a rate of $9,000 per day. The charter is also set to commence on March 14.

Diana says the charters will generate around $7.49m based on the minimum scheduled charter periods.
