Athens: Oslo-listed DOF Offshore has laid off 20 staff primarily from its operations at Austevoll and Bergen in Norway, plus some jobs in Aberdeen, Scotland.
All the workers affected have been informed and some have left their positions already, reports say. The staff will not be offered a severance package.
DOF’s CEO Anders Waage called the market downturn in the North Sea “tougher than anything we have experienced before”, according to local press.
Waage said the redundancies were part of a “general downsizing”, but the company has no further plans to lose more jobs.
