Dreifa Energy acquires PSV for FRU conversion

Norway-based Dreifa Energy has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the platform supply vessel Blue Betria from Blue Star Line.

The vessel was built in 1983 and upgraded in 2015 and is currently trading in the North Sea.

Dreifa Energy said is developing mid-scale floating regasification terminals for LNG imports and it aims to build, own and operate a fleet of FRUs.

The company believes Blue Betria is an ideal candidate for conversion to an FRU because of its large deck space and excellent condition.

According to the company, it has reached several key milestones towards a final investment decision for the first FRU conversion by the end of 2017 including an operational partnership with Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement.
