Dry bulk to recover before containers and offshore?

The extreme levels of scrapping seen in the dry bulk market in the past few months should see the sector beat other lowly segments to recovery, early voting in a new poll carried on this site shows.

Around 48% of the more than 200 respondents said dry bulk would recover quicker than offshore and the container sector. Offshore was deemed the segment likely to take the longest to recover.

The survey – called MarPoll – is carried out every quarter and the results are carried in Maritime CEO magazine – the next issue of which is due to be published in time for this year’s Posidonia exhibition in Athens.

The 10 topical questions cover most sectors. Voting requires no registration and takes less than two minutes – although there is room left for comments by each question, something we greatly value.
