DVB Bank gets new head of shipping and offshore
London: Bart Veldhuizen has joined DVB Bank’s board of directors and will be responsible for the bank’s shipping finance and offshore finance divisions, replacing Ralf Bedranowsky.
Veldhuizen (pictured) joins the board from London-based Swaen Marine, the advisory services firm he owns and founded.
He originated and structured Lloyds Banking Group’s shipping division and was responsible to loan portfolio management at Lloyds Banking Group in London. Veldhuizen was managing director and global head of shipping at the bank from August 2007 to October 2011.
Previously, he worked for NIBC Bank in The Hague from August 2002, where he was responsible for financing in the shipping and energy sectors.
Ralf Bedranowsky will succeed Wolfgang Driese as CEO and chairman of DVB’s board of managing directors, effective from July 1.
Until then, Bedranowsky will retain his place on the DVB board and will assume responsibility for risk management and other tasks.
“Wolfgang Driese will retire from DVB for reasons of age on June 30, 2015. It is intended to propose Wolfgang Driese for election to the supervisory board after a cooling-off period of one year,” DVB Bank said today.
