New York-listed dry bulk owner Eagle Bulk Shipping has acquired a two-year-old Crown-63 bulk carrier for $21.275m.

The Stamford, Connecticut-based company bought the 63,500 dwt Essence of Seatrek from Singapore-based Seatrek Trans.

It is scheduled for delivery in January 2018 and will be renamed New London Eagle.

With this purchase, Eagle Bulk’s fleet will total 47 ships, including 12 ultramaxes acquired in the past year.
