Eletson Gas and Evergas join forces to form E3 Pool

Greece’s Eletson Gas and Denmark’s Evergas have formed an alliance, the E3 Pool, which commencing January 30 will trade both company’s semi-refrigerated/ethylene capable vessels.

The venture will control a fleet of 15 gas carriers, operating from the Eletson offices in Piraeus and London and Evergas offices in Copenhagen and Singapore. A further four vessels will join as they are delivered to Eletson during 2017.

The two companies said that the larger fleet will provide more flexibility and options for charterers and reduce voyage related expenses through optimisation.

Vassilis E. Kertsikoff, chairman & CEO of Eletson Gas, commented: “The petrochemical market has a number of established trade routes that require critical mass to service properly. The cooperation with Evergas in the context of the E3 pool will give us the ability to offer our customers the high level of service and the optionality that they require.”

“With the combined expertise and resources of the two companies behind it the E3 Pool will be uniquely placed in the market to give a truly global service in this segment. We look forward to working with Eletson to develop our joint venture as a significant force within the ethylene and petrochemical markets,” added Steffen Jacobsen, CEO of Evergas.
