Empresa Naviera Elcano orders two bulkers at Sinopacific

Spanish shipowner Empresa Naviera Elcano has ordered two 120,000dwt bulk carriers at China’s Sinopacific Shipbuilding.

The vessels will be delivered in 2017, although other details of the contract were not revealed.

Empresa Naviera Elcano took delivery of one 120,000dwt bulk carrier from CSIC-affiliated Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry last week, with another one due for delivery later this year. The company also has a 13,000dwt chemical tanker under construction at Ningbo Xinle Shipbuilding.
