ENN Energy closes in on landmark LNG deal

 

Hong Kong: Hong Kong-listed ENN Energy Holdings Ltd is close to becoming the first private firm to build a liquefied natural gas import project in China.
 
The project in Zhejiang Province's Zhoushan City has been endorsed by the provincial government and the National Energy Administration and now awaits the all important nod from Beijing’s National Development and Reform Commission. To date all of China’s LNG terminals are operated by state run firms.
 
ENN Energy Holdings, formerly called XinAo Gas, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2001.It supplies more than 49m residential, commercial, industrial and vehicles customers with clean burning fuels via its 17,000 km gas pipeline network and more than 200 re-fueling stations. It can deliver up to 30m cu m of natural gas a day.
 
It invests and operates 100 gas facilities projects in 15 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China and has obtained city gas operation rights in Vietnam.  [12/02/13]
