Ensco secures multiple contracts and extensions

Offshore drilling contractor Ensco has been awarded a series of new jackup rig contracts and extensions.

According to the company’s latest fleet status report, Ensco 106 has been awarded a four-well contract with Sapura Energy offshore Malaysia, which commenced in March, Ensco 121 has secured a three-well contract with INEOS in the North Sea that is expected to commence in July, and Ensco 68 has been awarded a one-well contract with Ankor Energy in the US Gulf of Mexico, which is expected to commence in June.

In the meantime, Ensco 92’s contract with ConocoPhillips in the North Sea has been extended by more than four years to December 2022, Ensco 107 has received a three-month extension to July 2017 from Chevron, while contracts for Ensco 121 and Ensco 80 have been extended to April 2017 in the North Sea.

In addition, Ensco received a notice of early termination from Wintershall for its Ensco 104 rig with estimated effective date of May 17.
