Exmar orders VLGC pair for Statoil contract

Belgian owner Exmar has entered into contracts for two 79,500 cu m gas carriers to support a deal with Norway’s Statoil.

Under the agreement with Statoil, the two vessels will transport LPG under a long-term commitment.

The vessels are expected to be delivered within 2020 and will be compliant with NOx and SOx emissions regulations.

The order re-establishes the company’s presence as a VLGC shipowner, with the current eight VLGCs in its fleet either chartered in or managed by the company.
