Farstad Shipping wins fish farm work

Norway’s Farstad Shipping has been awarded a contract by Ocean Farming, a subsidiary of the SalMar Group, for the mooring installation and hook-up of a semi-submersible offshore fish farm.

The project, which will utilise Farstad AHTS vessels, involves the management and execution of offshore operations commencing during the first half of 2017.

Karl-Johan Bakken, CEO of Farstad Shipping, commented: “Within the company, we have an extensive track record and knowledge base
related to offshore mooring and hook-up operations, and this has been key factors enabling us to secure this contract. We highly appreciate Ocean
Farming’s confidence in Farstad Shipping as demonstrated by the award of this interesting contract in this new market segment.”

Farstad said it will utilise AHTS vessels from the fleet currently trading the spot market in the North Sea.
