Farstad Shipping wins new charters down under

Norway’s Farstad Shipping has won a host of new contracts for its vessels in Australia.

ConocoPhillips Australia has awarded Farstad a letter of intent for anchor handling tug supply vessel pair Far Sirius and Far Saracen to support the Barossa drilling campaign starting in January 2017.

INPEX- led Ichthys LNG Project has extended a contact for another anchor handler, Far Sword, for an additional 17 months starting from 31 March 2018.

McDermott Australia has awarded contract to platform supply vessel Far Seeker for a period of 40 days with a further 40-day options, with commencement scheduled in December 2016. McDermott has also awarded two AHTS vessels contracts for the Ichthys LNG Project due to commence in the second quarter of 2017.

Karl-Johan Bakken, CEO of Farstad Shipping, commented: “This is a clear demonstration of the ongoing standing of Farstad Shipping within Australia as the market leader and provides the Australian operations with a strong foundation heading into 2017.”

Farstad did not reveal the financial terms of the transactions.
