Fatal accident at Qingdao Wuchuan Heavy Industry

A major accident occurred at CSIC-affiliated Qingdao Wuchuan Heavy Industry killing one shipyard worker on Wednesday.

According to Qingdao Administration of Work Safety a hatch cover fell from a crane and hit a worker during hoisting operations, leading to his death.

The crane was being operated by a subcontractor of the shipyard, and local police have detained the responsible person for further investigation.
