Former Ningbo Port president investigated for corruption

Shanghai: China’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) has announced that Xu Huajiang, the former president of Ningbo Port, is currently being investigated by authorities for alleged corruption activities.

Ningbo Port announced on March 20 that Xu resigned from Ningbo Port for another job assignment.

Xu became the president of Ningbo Port in February 2014 following his service as the mayor of Cixi city near Ningbo.

Ningbo Port completed a container throughput of 18.7m teu in 2014, overtaking Busan Port’s position as the fifth largest container port in the world.
