Former Yingkou Port president gets 14 years for taking bribes

Liaoning Anshan Intermediate People’s Court has sentenced Gao Baoyu, former president of Yingkou Port, to 14 years prison for taking RMB26.8m ($3.9m) in bribes.

Gao has accepted the court ruling and will not appeal.

Gao had been the president of Yingkou Port Group since 2002 and also served as deputy chief of Yingkou Port Authority. He was taken away by discipline inspection authority for corruption investigations in March 2015.

In December, Du Chuanzhi, former president of Rizhao Port, was also arrested by authorities conducting corruption investigations.
