Further maritime streamlining in Taiwan

Taipei: Taiwan’s Maritime and Port Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has officially replaced the Customs Administration to become the agency in charge of all of the nation’s lighthouses and navigation aids.

The move follows on from other streamlining of the island’s maritime affairs, most notably last year’s coming together of all the major ports under one body.  [03/01/13]
