Gadani closed following latest fire

Authorities have once again closed Pakistan’s main shipbreaking site at Gadani following the third fire there in two months. The yard will be closed until at least January 25.

Four men have been arrested following a fire on Monday on an LPG carrier which killed five workers.

With demolition prices rising the squeeze out of Pakistani yards will likely see rates head futher north.
