Genting heads to Germany for new cruiseship
Hong Kong: Genting Hong Kong will splash out EUR707m on a new cruiseship to be built by Germany’s Meyer Werft.
Genting, a subsidiary of the Malaysian gaming-to-plantation conglomerate, said that the new ship will cater mainly to clients from greater China. Delivery is set for October 2016.
Genting has used a Bermuda-based subsidiary, Chinese Dream, to order the vessel. The ship is likely to join Star Cruises’ fleet, which today numbers seven cruiseships. The last time Star ordered a newbuild was 14 years ago. [08/10/13]
