Golden Ocean merger approved

Oslo: The expected Golden Ocean and Knightsbridge Shipping merger was approved today creating a dry bulk giant.

Shareholders gave their support to the deal that will see the Golden Ocean name survive in the market.

With the merger shipping magnate John Fredriksen has created an 80-strong bulker fleet brand.

Golden Ocean’s controlled capesize vessels will now join Capesize Chartering, a new alliance with other key players, Bocimar, CMT, Golden Union and Star Bulk.
