Great Eastern Shipping acquires secondhand tanker

Indian owner Great Eastern Shipping has signed a contract to acquire a 105,000 dwt secondhand LR2 product tanker.

The 2009-built vessel is expected to join the company’s fleet in 2018. The name of the vessel and price was not disclosed.

The company has been active on the secondhand market, having acquired four secondhand vessels so far this year made up of three tankers and one bulker.

Great Eastern Shipping currently operates a fleet of 46 vessels, comprising 30 tankers and 16 dry bulk carriers.
