Great Eastern Shipping sells ROV support vessel

Greatship Global Offshore Services, part of Greatship (India), has agreed to sell its ROV support vessel Greatship Ragini (built 2013).

Neither the buyer nor the sale price of the vessel were disclosed.

GIL and its subsidiaries currently own and operate four PSVs, nine AHTSVs, two MPSSVs, six ROVSVs, two jack-up rigs and have a 350-foot jack up rig under construction in the UAE. Greatship Ragini (pictured), a DP2 vessel, was originally acquired in 2013.

On Monday, GIL’s parent Great Eastern Shipping announced it has purchased a 20-year old, Japan-built VLGC with carrying capacity of 77,000 cbm. The shipowner did not reveal the name of the vessel nor its price.

Since August last year, the Mumbai-listed group has sold a kamsarmax newbuilding and added a 48,000-dwt MR product tanker to its fleet, which currently consists of 32 ships made up of eight crude tankers, 14 product carriers, an LPG carrier and nine bulk carriers, plus the VLGC to be delivered.
