Greatship offloads AHTS

Singapore: Indian shipping company Great Eastern Shipping has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Greatship, has sold and delivered anchor handling tug supply vessel Greatship Akhila (7,080 bhp, built 2009) to unnamed buyers.

With the delivery of this vessel to the buyers, Greatship and its subsidiaries currently owns and operates five PSVs, eight AHTS and four jack-up rigs.

“Low crude oil prices have impacted the performance of our offshore business in the January to March quarter of the last fiscal year, and they continue to affect the ongoing quarter,” Greatship’s managing director Ravi Sheth recently told Splash. “If oil prices continue to be this low, we may witness a bloodbath in the offshore sector.”
