Grool returns to Europe as a board member at Vroon

Perpignan: Shipmangement veteran Rob Grool is joining the board at Vroon from June 1. Grool, who had been managing Seaspan’s ships from Vancouver, is moving back to Europe after 13 years away to take on the role of director of fleet management at the Dutch owner whose diverse fleet includes bulkers, boxships and livestock carriers.

Grool will be a member of Vroon’s mamagement board alongside Coco Vroon and Herman Marks.

“The job will be the same,” Grool told Splash, “making a large and diversified fleet work better and help it grow. People and ships – never a dull moment.”

Prior to Seaspan, Grool headed up the Wallem Group in Hong Kong, and before that he was with Hanseatic in Cyprus.
