Gulf Drilling International awarded drilling contracts by Dolphin Energy

Offshore service provider Gulf International Services has announced that its subsidiary, Gulf Drilling International (GDI), has signed a contract with Dolphin Energy for drilling rig services offshore Qatar.

GDI will deploy jack-up rig Al Jassra for the work, which consist of drilling three wells on the DOL 1 production platform located offshore Qatar. The service will begin in February.

“The Al Jassra contract will provide GDI with an opportunity to display our drilling expertise to Dolphin Energy while improving our overall rig utilization. We are confident that our attention to detail and focus on fulfilling Dolphin’s needs will result in a “win-win” relationship for GDI and Dolphin Energy. We are grateful to be of valuable service to Dolphin Energy,” commented Mubarak A. Al Hajri, managing director and ceo of GDI.

GDI also said that its new liftboat Al Safliya is also set to commence working for Dolphin Energy under a five-year contract later this month.
