Singapore: The president of Singapore’s top containerline, APL, has highlighted the Middle East as one of the most “exciting” areas in the world for container volumes growth. Kenneth Glenn, speaking at yesterday’s Sea Asia conference in Singapore, said the area “has continued to exhibit very strong growth”.
He added, however, that the cascading effect of larger tonnage coming off the mainline trades has meant that financial results from Middle East trades are “not so attractive”. [10/04/13]
