Guoyu Shipping exits shipowning with supramax sales

Sources tell Splash that two popular supramaxes have successfully been offloaded by low-key Chinese firm, Guoyu Shipping.

The 57-000 dwt sized bulkers have gone to an European buyer for around $14m en bloc, after being circulated for the first time some some weeks back.

Hong Kong-based Guoyu Shipping is a part of the much larger Wuhan Guoyu Logistic group who also is behind Yangzhou Guoyu Shipbuilding, where the ships where built.

The two four-year-old sister ships, named Oriental Explorer and Oriental Phoenix, are the last owned ships on Guoyu Shipping’s books.
