Hebei Port Group and Tianjin Port Group team up on terminal development

Hebei Port Group and Tianjin Port Group have together signed a framework agreement to jointly develop and operate terminals.

Under the agreement Bohai Tianjin-Hebei Port Investment and Development Company, a joint venture set up by the two port groups, will acquire the multi-purpose terminal in Huanghua Port in Hebei and a bulk terminal in Tianjin’s Gaoshaling port area.

Hebei Port Group and Tianjin Port Group established the joint venture in 2014 to focus on port cooperation between the two regions.

Wang Yashan, general manager of the joint venture, said the deal will help the two ports complement each other’s business in the bulk and container shipping and create synergy in the two port’s future development.
