Höegh LNG FSRU commences operations in Egypt

Oslo: Höegh LNG has said that floating storage and regasification unit Höegh Gallant has commenced commercial operations at the LNG import terminal in Ain Sokhna, Egypt.

The vessel completed performance and commissioning tests yesterday, and now begins a five year contract which was signed last November with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS).

Sveinung J.S. Støhle, president and CEO of Höegh LNG, commented: “We are very proud to have commenced commercial operations on our third FSRU in the last six months, which shows the strength and depth of our technical and operational expertise.”

The 170,000 cbm Höegh Gallant was built at Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries and was delivered to Höegh LNG late last year.
