Hudong Zhonghua continues LNG winning streak

Shanghai: Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of CSSC Group, has announced on September 6 that it has won the bid of building six LNG vessels for the APLNG transportation project of China Shipping and Sinopec.

Hudong Zhonghua will construct 4+1+1 self-developed 174,000 cu m dual-fuel propulsion LNG vessels, and the plan of the delivery is one in 2015, two in 2016, and three in 2017.

“Building LNG vessels is an important path of the company’s development, and also reflects our new breakthroughs in the field of LNG vessel design and shipbuilding technology, and the new efforts we have made to promote the implementation of China's energy strategy,” Hudong Zhonghua said in a release.

This is the first time Hudong Zhonghua, China’s only LNG shipbuilder to date, has nailed orders incorporating dual fuel engines.  [07/09/12]
