Hun Sen opens new Cambodian boxport

Phnom Penh : The Cambodian capital on Tuesday inaugurated a brand new container terminal at Phnom Penh Autonomous Port. On hand for the opening was Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen. The 10-hectare terminal was built by a Chinese firm, and with a loan from Beijing too.

The terminal has a 120,000 teu annual capacity. It is situated along the Mekong River in Kean Svay district, about 30 km east of the capital.

"It is a modern container port. This is a new achievement in Cambodia's transportation development," the premier said.  [23/01/13]
