IBIA chairman says supplies “unaffected” in wake of OW Bunker’s demise

London: The chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association’s (IBIA) has moved to ease concerns about bunker supplies around the world in the wake of the dramatic demise of OW Bunker. The Danish firm collapsed on November 7 after a $125m fraud was discovered at its Singapore subsidiary, Dynamic Oil Trading.

IBIA chairman Jens Maul Jorgensen, speaking with our sister site, Maritime CEO, said: “IBIA understands that supplies are unaffected and we understand that various administrations are looking at the impact of the collapse of OW Bunker and will in time address these issues with more stringent regulations and enforcement.”
