Imtech Marine takeover by Pon and Parcom gets EC approval

The European Commission has approved the takeover of marine services provider Imtech Marine by Pon Holdings and Parcom Capital, which has now been finalised.

Imtech will be renamed but will continue to be run independently from its headquarters in the Netherlands. The new name will be announced at the Europort exhibition in Rotterdam on November 5, the company said.

“Now that the acquisition is completed, a new era arises for Imtech Marine. The coming years, our aim will be to further strengthen our leading position in the maritime sector, with dedicated focus on our customers, employees and suppliers,” said René ten Brinke, Imtech’s CEO.

The ship technology firm employs almost 2,500 staff, of which over 900 are based in The Netherlands and the rest in more than 85 offices in 30 countries worldwide.
