Investigation starts after Technip seafarer killed at Invergordon port

Police and the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have launched a joint investigation at Invergordon Port in Scotland after a seafarer died in an industrial accident at the port on Friday morning.

The man is said to have died of his injuries from the accident, which reportedly involved a forklift truck on the quayside, according to local press.

The Filipino man was employed onboard Technip’s pipelaying vessel Deep Energy (built 2013), which is berthed at the port.

Technip told Scottish press it is providing support to the seafarer’s family, colleagues and friends.
