Irish set for ship recycling venture in Dalian

Dalian: An Irish firm is about to establish a high-tech ship recycling centre on the outskirts of Dalian. CEMS-Dalian will be based in Zhuanghe. The Irish company has formed a jv with a local partner to design, develop and operate a state of the art ship dismantling and recycling facility. Dalian is playing a big role in ship recycling these days with a large new yard operated by the city’s main builder in association with a nearby steel mill and a Singaporean shipowner.  [05/04/13]
