Janchart takes its second handy bulker this year

Janchart Shipping has swooped for its second vessel acquisition of the year. Brokers report that the Danish owner has picked up the 28,700 dwt Midway for $5.5m from Greek owner Marriena Amadora.

The company snapped up a slightly larger handy bulker in April.

Janchart Shipping, founded in 1992, mainly operates between the Black Sea, Red Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Far East, West Africa and South America and now owns a fleet of more than 10 handy bulkers.

  1. They have been active secondhand handy buyers recently…
They also have an office in Glyfada, although according to sources there are Syrian interests behind Janchart.
