Japan Club opening in Singapore

Singapore: Redolent of the fact many of its members now manage their vessels out of Singapore the Japan Ship Owners' Mutual Protection and Indemnity Association is to open an office in the Lion Republic which will offer both underwriting and claims handling services.

“Our aim will be to improve the service we render to existing members who will move or have moved to Singapore already, and to obtain new entries there,” the club said.

The Japan Club, which has more than 90m gt on its books, also announced it is raising rates next year by 5%.  [27/11/12]
