Jawar Al Khaleej Shipping orders three at Damen

Damen Shipyards Group has announced the singing of a contract with Jawar Al Khaleej Shipping (JAK) for the supply of three vessels made up of one fast crew boat and two tugs.

The crew supply vessel will be built at Damen Shipyards Antalya in Turkey and named the Jawar Abu Dhabi. It is due for delivery in early 2017.

The tugs are to be named the Jawar Faw and Jawar Um Qasr respectively and are being constructed at Damen Shipyards Song Cam in Vietnam.

“The acquisition of these new vessels reaffirms Jawar Al Khaleej Shipping LLC’s fullest commitment, confidence and determination to continue supporting the offshore oil and gas industry in the forthcoming years,” commented Eng. Baydaq Al Jazaeri, chairman of JAK.

JAK is a provider of specialist services to the offshore oil and gas sector in the Gulf, including operating the fleet of tugs and support vessels that support the Al Basra and Khor Al Amaya oil terminals in Iraq.
