Our client is one of the leading 3PL who has extensive network and presence in Asia, Europe, North & South America. The client provides consultative customised airfreight, ocean freight, local transportation, rail, multimodal, warehousing and distribution solutions globally.

The role:

  • Negotiate and procure rates from the carriers and implement selling rates import and export for Asia
  • Develop trade lane strategy that supports corporate product strategy and aligned with Global Ocean Freight Product Management
  • Strategic development on the ocean freight structures and policies
  • Managing investment funds for the successful procurement of viable and sustainable business opportunities
  • Liason between Sales/KAMO and the pricing teams
  • Develops, promotes and processes regional trade lane strategies under the roof of the global trade lane strategy and optimizes FCL related
  • Negotiates and procures local rate terms (ie non preferred ocean carrier rates, side terms) and assists global and individually assigned country trade teams to achieve best procurement results, managing existing and cultivating new relationships with approved carriers
  • Analyse trade lanes and capabilities based on cargo flows, carrier shares, net achieved costs on respective trade lanes and align capacity planning
  • Aligns, implements and monitors regional FCL budget including monitoring and controlling of the volume performance
  • Review and promotes country ocean freight projects
  • Defines FCL related regional business requirements
  • Supports regional KAM/Sales functions and country freight teams
  • Support regional and country operational processes and SOPs.

The requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in the oceanfreight
  • Trade development experience in Europe trade would be preferred
  • Strong communication at all levels of business and across cultural/national boundaries
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good sales techniques
  • Willingness to travel/work overtime when required
  • Proven track record in business development
