Jungerhans Maritime orders eight feeder boxships at Zhoushan Changhong

Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard has signed shipbuilding contracts with German owner Jungerhans Maritime Services for the construction of four 1,000teu containerships, with a further four options.

The new order is Zhoushan Changhong’s first secured from a foreign shipowner.

The vessels will be designed by CIMC ORIC, classified by DNV GL, and are scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2017.

Jungerhans Maritime Services operates a fleet of more than 40 vessels, made up of containerships and heavy lift vessels.
