Keppel chosen for Fredriksen’s first FLNG project

Singapore: John Fredriksen’s Golar LNG made a big announcement yesterday, announcing plans to enter the FLNG market for the first time. Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard has been chosen to convert an old LNG tanker to an FLNG, which will then be deployed in Africa. The contract is thought to be worth more than half a billion dollars. The facility will produce around 2m metric tons of LNG a year.  [02/11/12]
