Lerus Group: Ukrainian training experts expand

Kiev: A Ukrainian recruitment and training company is expanding in Asia. Lerus Group has provided services for the offshore oil and gas industry since 2007. It opened an office in Singapore in 2014 and has just taken over the EMAS Academy in the Lion Republic.

“We believe that well trained and qualified crew onboard a vessel is vital for the safe performance of all operations. It is much better to invest in an additional training and assessment of personnel than face financial and reputational losses due to an accident caused by your personnel on board,” says Ruslan Gromovenko, ceo and founder of Lerus.

Singapore is but one part of the global jigsaw Gromovenko sees for Lerus. For example, the company is working in Nigeria to train some 200 cadets at the moment in the offshore arena.

“Offshore vessel owners and operators cannot neglect seafarer’s training even in the current downturn of the industry,” Gromovenko insists.
