Libyan oil production down by 50%

Cairo: Libyan Oil Minister Abdul Bary Arousi said on Tuesday that Libya's production of oil is still less than half of its pre-war level, as ports stopped exporting oil export in the east of the country. He added that the country's crude production fell to 665,000 barrels per day due to strikes, compared to 1.55m barrels a day before that.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Oil Minister said that the port of Marsa Brega in the east is the only port working, and most of the production comes from two fields in the south and west – Al Zawiya and Mellitah.  [28/08/13]
