Maersk Oil pulls the plug on Tvillingen

Oslo: The partners in  Tvillingen with production license PL510 have decided to abandon exploration, after difficulties in the drilling process, said Oslo-listed  North Energy in a statement.

North Energy said the licence partners  would now evaluate new options, including a potential redrill of the Tvillingen South prospect.

North Energy said: “The license partners will carefully evaluate further opportunities for the licence work program , including a possible new well in the Gemini South prospect .”

Partners in the license are Maersk Oil Norway  (operator with a 50% stake ) , Edison Norway (30%) and North Energy (20%).

Tvillingen is on the Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea.
