McDermott earns big Saudi Aramco contract

Houston-based oilfield services company McDermott International on Wednesday said it had been awarded a major contract by Saudi Aramco.

The deal is for engineering, procurement, construction and installation work on 13 jackets in four fields – Zuluf, Marjan, Berri and Abu Safah – offshore Saudi Arabia.

Its value has not been disclosed but lies somewhere between $50 million and $250 million.

Since 2001 McDermott has built and installed over 121 jackets for Saudi Aramco.

McDermott and Dhahran-based Aramco have a long history of cooperation and last May they signed a memorandum of understanding when US President Donald Trump made a state visit to Saudi.

The MOU committed McDermott to helping Aramco develop its physical and human capital.
