McDermott earns contract on BP project offshore Trinidad

Houston, Texas-based oil industry service company McDermott International has announced it has won a contract from BP Trinidad and Tobago (BPTT) for the Cassia C compression platform.

The contract’s specific value was not released but it is for detailed engineering and long lead procurement services with work that will include a new unmanned compression platform.

Cassia C, BP’s third Cassia platform, is located about 40 miles off the southeast coast of Trinidad and Tobago in the Columbus basin.

The contract continues McDermott’s ongoing relationship with BPTT on projects offshore the twin island nation located just seven miles off northeast Venezuela.
