McDermott gets fast-track offshore contract from Saudi Aramco

Houston-based oil industry services company McDermott International has won a contract from Saudi Aramco for fast-track work offshore Saudi Arabia.

The deal requires engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) work on four jackets and three gas observation platforms and must be done to a tight schedule requiring completion by the third quarter of this year.

Financial terms of the contract have not been revealed.

McDermott says it will employ its engineers in Dubai, Chennai (India) and Al Khobar (Saudi Arabia) to this task, with construction work to be done at its facilities in Dubai and Dammam (Saudi Arabia).

This is McDermott’s third such fast-track project with Saudi Aramco in the past 18 months. The two companies have a longstanding history of co-operation going back 47 years.
