Mednav heads to CSSC for MR tanker pair

Italian owner Mednav has placed its first newbuild order in over ten years, heading to China’s CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering to order two 45,000 dwt MR2 tankers.

The price for each vessel is $34m and delivery is scheduled in 2019.

Mednav, which is run by and partly owned by Raffaele Bruno, currently operates a fleet of 15 tankers with a focus on Italian cabotage and short sea routes in the Mediterranean.
