Mercator sells panamax bulker for scrap

India’s Mercator has announced the sale of 1997-built panamax bulker Vrinda for $4.25m.

The vessel was sold to Hong Kong entity Best Oasis, a subsidiary of Indian green ship recycler Priya Blue.

Mercator said that proceeds from the sale will be used for debt repayment after the deal is completed on April 6.
